Founder Kathy Whitney launched Whitney Nonprofit Consulting with over 30 years of fundraising and nonprofit management experience.

She previously served as National Director of Major and Planned Giving for the Alzheimer's Association's East Region, where she raised over $26 million, managing a team of major gift fundraisers.

She also held the position of Senior Director of Development for CARE USA, and has been Executive Director at two national health organizations. She began her fundraising career in New York at Historic Hudson Valley, working closely with members of the Rockefeller family.

Active in the community, Kathy has served in volunteer leadership positions and on nonprofit boards. She designed and taught fundraising management courses at the State University of New York at Purchase and has been designated a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) since 2000. In 2017, she received her certification as a Master Trainer from the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and is a member of the AFP Suncoast chapter. Kathy has a degree from the University of Florida in Business Administration.
